I am a Lecturer of Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction where I teach courses in reading methods including foundational and upper level elementary. My role as an academic puts me directly in dialogue with current and upcoming research that informs my thinking and practice as an educator, professor, and consultant.

Prior to entering higher education and completing a doctoral degree, I taught for Minneapolis Public Schools for over ten years. This experiential knowledge informs my approach to assessment administration and tutoring so that the services I provide will transfer into the classroom.
