During this 20 minute consultation, we will discuss the needs of your child and I will answer any questions you have regarding the diagnostic literacy assessments and tutoring.

Private 1:1 Tutoring

Diagnostic Literacy Assessments Required Prior to Tutoring Services

Tutoring is recommended 2/week for those who have specific goals to work on deficits in reading. For those wishing to strengthen and support advanced growth in literacy, writing, and critical thinking 1/week or 2/week is encouraged.

$125/hour

Virtual tutoring via Zoom. This can be in addition to in-home tutoring or stand-alone.

Diagnostic Literacy Assessments

The diagnostic literacy assessments are rooted in the Science of Reading (SOR) and are compliant under the Minnesota READ act. The diagnostic/screening assessments will give us data to set goals based on strengths and weaknesses. The following is included in the assessment package:

• Phonemic Awareness Assessment

• Phonics Inventory Assessment

• Fluency Assessment

• Comprehension Maze Assessment & Oral Retell Assessment

• Spelling Inventory Assessment & Writing Analysis

• Motivation to Read Profile

You will receive a detailed analysis of the results and recommendations for tutoring & areas of focus. You will then be offered tutoring based upon these needs with me or can take with you to share with your child’s teacher. The assessment is a great way to prepare for summer tutoring & also a solid way to start the school year by sharing with your child’s new teacher.

College Writing Prep

$500

Writing a polished, unique college essay is one of the critical components of ensuring acceptance into your schools of choice. During the 3-session prep, I work alongside you to develop your essay that has a strong writer’s voice and is a representation of your interests tied to the schools you are applying for. At the conclusion of the sessions, your student will have 3 polished drafts of college essays ready to go!

• 3 sessions total (50 min. each) scheduled within a 2-week period.

• 3 polished drafts, application ready.

• Research on specific program areas & mission statements completed by myself prior to sessions.

• 1:1 writing support on: interest building, writer’s voice, grammar, structure, overall polish
